Good Morning Trojans, This is a reminder that tomorrow is early release for teacher professional development. School will be dismissed at 2:00 pm! Boys & Girls Club will be in session from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.

Just as a reminder when to keep your child home from school. The top five reasons to keep your child home from school are fever, vomiting or diarrhea, pain, and persistent coughing. If your child has coughing that won’t stop or any changes in their breathing they should be kept home from school. A prolonged cough can indicate and/or lead to other medical issues. Your child should stay home if he/she has a persistent cough with phlegm, wheezing, is abnormally cranky or tired.

Trojan Highlight: Julian Dominguez Julian is one of our custodians. Let’s give a shout-out to Julian. He has worked for the district for 4 years. His favorite part of working at the district is definitely keeping our school buildings clean for both students and staff. Julian enjoys listening to rock, country, and Spanish music. Some of his favorite things are spending time in the mountains, fishing, playing softball, and also practicing playing the drums.

The South Conejos School Board of Education will be conducting a Special Board Meeting on the 17th day of April 2023, at 5 PM. The meeting will be held in the Secondary Flex area.

Trojan Highlight: Tracy Pacheco Tracy is a paraprofessional, as well as a bus driver. She has worked at the district for 25 + years. Her favorite part of working at the district is the children, she says “I love working with children and driving them to school and back Home!!!!!!”. Her favorite types of music are oldies and country. When she isn’t driving the bus, or helping in the classroom, she enjoys doing homework with my grandkids, coloring, and listening to music.

The South Conejos School Board of Education will be conducting a Regular Board Meeting on the 11th day of April 2023, at 6 PM. The meeting will be held in the Secondary Flex area.

It is testing time Trojan families! Over the next two weeks, your child will be taking our state's standardized test, the PSAT/SAT/CMAS assessments. We want to make sure it is a positive experience for all our students! We've been working at school to get ready for the test and we know your student will shine bright on the test! Here are a few things you can do to help your student be prepared every day: Ensure your child arrives to school on time Make sure your child gets a good night's rest Gently encourage them to do their best The image has a copy of the schedule for the next two weeks for 3rd through 11th grade. Parents will also receive home a letter with a copy of their student's schedule.

It is baby week! Our Early Childhood students are learning how to care for infants day and night with the RealCare Baby Simulators. It has been a couple of sleepless nights, but our students are doing a great job of nurturing!

Trojan Families, South Conejos School District and Head Start just had an emergency drill. Both buildings are safe and secure. I repeat, this was only a drill.

Trojan Weekly Athletics Our MS wrestling tournament has been canceled. We will look to host a tournament next year before the regional and state tournament.

The South Conejos School Board of Education will be conducting a Special Board Meeting on the 28th day of March 2023, at 6 PM. The meeting will be held in the Secondary Flex area.

Our trip to Bayfield for the HS track and field meet has been cancelled due to weather. The MS wrestling tournament at Centauri is still a go. Coaches meeting is at 8am and wrestling is tentatively starting at 9am. Start time could change if there is teams that are late due to the weather. Please travel safe and take your time.

Happy Spring Break Trojan Families! School will resume on March 27th. March 29th will be an early release at 2:00 pm and the rescheduled parent teacher conferences will be from 3:00-7:00 pm that evening. We hope everyone enjoys the week with family!
