
The South Conejos School Board of Education will be conducting a Work Session on the 10th day of May 2023, at 6 PM. The meeting will be held in the Secondary Flex area.


Trojan Highlight: Margarita Lucero
Miss Marg is going on 6 months in the district. Let’s give a shout-out to Miss Marg. She is one of the preschool assistants. Her favorite part of working here at the district is working with all the staff. She doesn’t have a favorite type of music, she loves it all. Some of her hobbies include walking, being in nature, meditating, and hanging out with her friends and family.


Meet our newest Trojan - Helena! Helena is training to become our school's therapy dog to support our students and staff. Right now she is enjoying most of her time sleeping and chewing on sticks, but she is excited to get in the classroom with all her new family members!
Helena means bright shining light and we know she is going to be a bright light for all of us at South Conejos!


Trojan Nation! You are invited to the 4th Grade's Living History Museum presented by Mrs. Veronica Velasquez on May 4th from 1:00-2:00 pm in the elementary flex area.


Trojan Highlight: Joe Guenther
Mr. G is our kindergarten - 9th grade PE teacher. He is also the health teacher and the strength coach. He has worked with the district for 4 years. His favorite reasons for working at the district are the great staff he gets to work with, the awesome students, and of course, he gets to play dodgeball!!! Shout out to Mr. G! He enjoys pop punk / alternative grunge music. When he is not playing dodgeball at school with the students, Mr. G is weight lifting, and playing video games.

The South Conejos School Board of Education will be conducting a Special Board Meeting on the 2nd day of May 2023, at 6 PM. The meeting will be held in the Secondary Flex area.


The track meet in Sangre is postponed due to the weather. They are wanting to move it to tomorrow. Stay tuned for more information.

Our Trojan crew had a fun week getting ready for prom this weekend!
We want to ask parents, grandparents, family to join your high school student at this year's 2023 Prom for the Grand March starting at 8:00 pm at Chavez Market, followed by the traditional Marcha. After the completion of the Marcha, we invite you to share in an individual dance with your student.
Students, we want to wish you a safe and fun prom weekend!







Trojan Highlight: Laura Judd
Mrs. Judd's role at SCSD is to teach 2nd Graders. She is also involved with tutoring, Destination Imagination, and summer school. She’s taught in Antonito for 4 years! She said, ”I enjoy being part of a great community of teachers and staff, but most of all, I enjoy working with our amazing students! This school ROCKS!” Her favorite kind of Music is Latin Pop. The things she enjoys doing outside of school are spending time outdoors with her family and she loves to travel.

Trojan Highlight: Randy Perea
Mr. Perea has been the district’s Special education teacher for 4 years. Shout out to Mr. Perea! His favorite part of working in the school is the students. He enjoys spending learning time with all of his students. Oldies, rock, and Spanish music are Mr. Perea's favorite types of music. When he is not helping students he is spending time cruising, being outdoors, and traveling.

Trojan Highlight: Angie Mestas
Ms. Mestas is our art teacher for kindergarten - 12th grades. She has worked at the district for 1 year. Her favorite thing about working at the school is the friendly, helpful staff. She enjoys listening to oogum boogum music. Her favorite thing to do outside of school is hanging out with her dogs. Shout out to Ms. Mestas.


The South Conejos School District selected three finalists for the position of superintendent of schools at a meeting Monday night, April 17th. Interviews for the position are scheduled April 22nd at the district building.

Law Enforcement Officer Medina and Recreational Specialist Martinez brought Smokey the Bear to the South Conejos preschool and kindergarten classes today. The students learned the importance of keeping the forest clean, and wildfire prevention.
