Go Trojans!

This week in Trojan Athletics...

Hello Trojan Families! This is a reminder that we do not have school tomorrow in observance of Presidents' Day. Enjoy the extra long weekend with each other and we will see you all Tuesday.

The South Conejos School Board of Education will conduct a Regular Meeting on the 18th day of February 2025 at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held in the Secondary Flex area.

Good luck to Alyssa Abeyta, Eliana Garcia, and Lauren Gallegos, as they begin their journey at the State Wrestling Tournament today! You've put in the hard work and dedication to get here, and now it's time to shine. Stay focused, give it your all, and remember— you've got this! Best of luck as you compete today!

Good Evening Trojan Families,
This is a reminder we have parent teacher conferences from 5:00-7:00 pm tomorrow night and our Lady Trojans compete against Hanover in basketball. We look forward to seeing you all there.

This weekend, our girls wrestling team made an impressive mark at the regional tournament, finishing 8th out of 15 teams. It was a hard-fought battle, and every girl gave it their all on the mat. Each of our athletes earned a placement, showcasing their skill, determination, and sportsmanship. The real highlight came when three of our wrestlers secured spots to advance to the state tournament, a well-deserved achievement. Their relentless effort and focus paid off, and we’re all incredibly proud of how far they’ve come!

The School Board and Superintendent left Wednesday afternoon, traveling to the State Capitol Building to represent our school district. They set out early Thursday morning for the Capitol and were greeted by fellow education leaders. The mission is clear: advocate for policies that will improve education for our students, ensure equitable funding, and create a stronger future for all.

The Middle School Girl's Basketball End-of-Season Tournament will take place tomorrow, Friday, February 7th, in Monte Vista. Please see the bracket for more information.

February Trojan Update

One or more members of the South Conejos Board of Education will be attending the Colorado Association of School Board's Day at The Capitol on February 6, 2025. The purpose of this event is for board members to engage in professional learning, it is not to conduct public business of the local district or engage in formal action. While notice is not required pursuant to C.R.S. 24-6-402, the Board believes in transparency and, therefore, is providing this information regarding the event.

Dear Parents,
We hope this message finds you well. As we navigate through the cold and flu season, it is crucial to prioritize the health and well-being of our students. In light of this, I would like to remind you of the importance of keeping your child(ren) at home if they exhibit certain symptoms of illness. This practice helps prevent the spread of infections within our school community.
Attached to this letter, you will find a link outlining the specific guidelines regarding when to keep your child(ren) at home from school. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these recommendations to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all our students and staff.
Your understanding and vigilance in this matter contribute significantly to the welfare of our school community. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please feel free to reach out.
