South Conejos School District recognized board members, Kristie Duran and Theresa Sisneros, for all their years of service to our school and community on December 4th, 2023. New board members, Angela Velasquez and Ricardo Romero were sworn in for their new term.

WHEREAS, The Honorable Kristie Duran began her service as a Director of South Conejos
School District in November 2015; WHEREAS, throughout her service, Kristie Duran has worked tirelessly to promote the value of education to the South Conejos Community. WHEREAS, Kristie Duran has served the people of the South Conejos School District with distinction and has made many valuable contributions to the Board during her membership; and, WHEREAS, Kristie Duran’s commitment, integrity, uncommon wisdom, dedication to the objectives of South Conejos School District, and expertise as a Board member are well recognized and appreciated by her Board colleagues; and, WHEREAS, the members of the Board of Directors wish to thank Kristie Duran for her many contributions to the Board; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors hereby expresses its gratitude to Kristie Duran for her service on the Board of Directors, for her sound advice and valued counsel, and for all that she has contributed to the Board of Directors, and to the Community; and FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors wishes Kristie Duran continued success in all her endeavors and expresses our hope for her continued health, happiness, and prosperity. FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be presented to Kristie Duran as a token of our respect.
WHEREAS, The Honorable Theresa Sisneros began her service as a Director of South Conejos
School District in November 2019; WHEREAS, throughout her service, Theresa Sisneros has advocated for students and teachers at South Conejos School District. WHEREAS, Theresa Sisneros has served the people of the South Conejos School District both serving on the school board and as an active member in the Parent Teacher Organization; and, WHEREAS, Theresa Sisneros’s passion, tenacity, and devotion to South Conejos School District, and educational experience as a Board member are well recognized and appreciated by her Board colleagues; and, WHEREAS, the members of the Board of Directors wish to thank Theresa Sisneros for her many contributions to the Board; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors hereby expresses its gratitude to Theresa Sisneros for her service on the Board of Directors, for her zeal and influence, and for all that she has contributed to the Board of Directors, and to the Community; and FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors wishes Theresa Sisneros continued success in all her endeavors and expresses our hope for her continued health, happiness, and prosperity.
